Hello! My name is Mrs. Faraj and I am the Principal at Geer Park Elementary. In 2008, I completed my student teaching as a college student at Geer Park with Mrs. Mardini, in a first grade classroom. I was so inspired by the school community at Geer Park under the direction of Mrs. Awada, that I enrolled my own daughters, Ava and Medina, at Geer Park when they entered kindergarten. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2009, I started my teaching career at Maples Elementary teaching 4th grade. After that, I moved to Lowrey Elementary, where I taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. During this time, I also completed a Master’s in Reading Instruction as well as a Bilingual Endorsement to teach English Learners. As a Geer Park parent, I continued to witness the power of a strong school community that worked collaboratively to motivate and inspire students to shine. In 2015, I had the opportunity to move to a teaching position at Geer Park, with Mrs. Srour as the principal. I spent several years at Geer Park as a teacher and then an English Language Development Specialist, before moving into administration and receiving my Administrative Certificate. I served as the Assistant Principal at Stout Middle School for three years before coming back to Geer Park yet again, to serve as the Interim Principal during the second half of the 2021-2022 school year. I am beyond honored to be leading this school community as the Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. I have the pleasure of leading a group of committed and passionate teachers who believe in every students’ potential and their ability to achieve success and work collaboratively with dedicated parents who understand the importance of their role in their child’s success. Together, Geer Park will continue to thrive as a strong and united school community that puts our students FIRST and sees the full potential of every Geer Park Star to shine bright!
