Please call the office at (313) 827-2300 if your child is going to be absent from school. If your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness: runny nose, cough, fever, chills, diarrhea, or vomiting, please wait until they are symptom free to send them to school. If your child is exhibiting these symptoms at school, we are obligated to send them home to ensure the safety and health of all students.
To support a safe and orderly school day, please note the following as they relate to entering/exiting the building:
- Secretaries are required to screen ALL visitors entering the building, even those they know. You will be asked who you are, what you need assistance with, why you are visiting.
- If you are dropping off lunch, clothing, or materials for your child, please ensure they are in a sealed bag and place them in the tall shipment container by the main doors.
- If you are volunteering, it must be arranged with the office or classroom teacher ahead of time.
- NO ONE will be permitted to come to the building and sit in their child’s classroom or in the lunchroom without prior notification to the teacher.
Your child’s safety is MY number one priority and the number one priority of our staff. We NEED your support in ensuring Geer Park’s building procedures and protocols are honored. We honor the trust that you give us with regards to your child with the utmost respect and seriousness.
