Dear Geer Park staff,
I am pleased to share the news that Ms. Hanaa Faraj, current Assistant Principal at Stout Middle School, will join the Geer Park community as Interim Principal. While this is a loss for Stout, this is a great benefit for the students, parents and staff at Geer Park.
Ms. Faraj is well known to many at Geer Park, as she was not only the summer school administrator last year, but also was a classroom teacher and English Language Development Specialist at Geer Park for many years. Ms. Faraj has many years of educational experience and a background in elementary education. She is a strong instructional leader and will be a strong leader for the Geer Park community.
Ms. Faraj will begin full time at Geer Park on Monday, February 14th. A parent meeting will be held in the cafeteria on Wednesday, February 16th from 4-5:30 in the cafeteria for parents who would like to meet her. Please note that masks are required for all who enter the building.
New Building Secretary: Ms. Elzbieta Blackburn will join Ms. Mogalli in the office as the new building secretary. Ms. Blackburn has extensive experience in office management. Her most recent experience is at Dearborn High School. Ms. Blackburn will begin on February 15th.
I appreciate the support of all Geer Park and central office staff and parents as we work through these transitions to support students and families. Thank you all for your concern, questions, suggestions and for your help and understanding.
