Geer Park Elementary School

COVID 19 Info. and Resources

Dear Geer Park Families,

Thank you for all of your support and patience as we work through preparing and educating students on COVID19.

We are taking every precaution to ensure that students are safe at school. Our staff is doing an excellent job communicating with students and talking to parents about COVID19!

The engineer and his crew are making sure the building is clean, daily.

In the lunchroom, we have separated lunches so that half of the students are inside and the other half are outside. The students did a great job as we implemented this new system today.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact your child’s teacher, a member of our office staff, the school nurse, the leadership team and/or the Principal. Together, we will get through this.

Note: During tomorrow’s Professional Development Time, teachers will be preparing for possible remote learning.

i.e., “Remote learning PD time: the goal is to support all teachers to prepare for remote learning for students. “

  “In the event that there is a need for a closure, we need to have remote learning prepared. ”

We will inform parents as soon as possible if the district chooses to implement this short term and/or long term plan.

From the District Memo;

“Our school nurses have done a great job to assemble complete information about COVID 19 and it’s available on our District website and linked to every school blog. Click here for the information. The Wayne County Health Department provides every district with guidance and we have been in contact with personnel multiple times based on new and emerging information”
