Geer Park Families,
Earlier this morning, around 11:00am, our School Resource Officer notified the building that we should go into a “soft lockdown” out of an abundance of caution. At the time, Dearborn Police were in the Geer Park area searching for a suspect but indicated there was no imminent danger to our school community. We brought students indoors who were outside, secured all students and staff in classrooms with their doors locked, but continued instruction as normal. Within about 5-7 minutes, we were again notified that the suspect had been apprehended and that we could lift the soft lockdown we had in place. Staff was informed and we continued with our school day. This message is being shared with you to continue to support an open line of communication with regards to school safety.
