Mrs. Lamis Srour
Lamis Srour was appointed as Principal of Geer Park Elementary in May, 2013. Mrs. Srour served as an administrator before joining Dearborn Public Schools in 2002. During her time in Dearborn, she taught various grade levels and was a Bilingual Resource Teacher. She served on numerous building and district committees; assessment, AdvanceEd, report card, and professional development to name a few. She has also attended trainings and conferences at the district, state and national level. Mrs. Srour is a Trainer of Trainers in district initiatives, such as Blueprints for Exceptional Writing, Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol, Thinking Maps, and Parent Talk.
Mrs. Srour has been a part of the Geer Park family since it opened its doors in 2005. The Geer Park mottos “Seek to Understand” and “The way to a child’s mind is through his heart”, inspired by founding principal Andrea Awada, are held close to her heart. Through these beliefs, Mrs. Srour is committed to sustaining the safe and positive culture of the school as each Geer Park star reaches academic success.
Mrs. Srour holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language and has an Education Specialist degree in Administration. In 2009, she was one of two teachers chosen to complete an internship through Wayne County RESA’s Aspiring Principals program.
