As part of our ongoing effort to keep an open line of communication with our parents, I would like to take a moment to share information regarding a comment made by one of our students.
On Monday, a student made a comment about bringing a weapon to school and harming other students. The details behind the comment were investigated and appropriate disciplinary action was taken. It is important to note that the comment made by the student did not reference any sort of immediate action and at no time were any students or staff in danger.
We live in a time when even very minor events, such as this unfortunate exchange of words, must be taken with the utmost seriousness and acted upon without delay. Please use this as an opportunity to discuss with your child the importance of using appropriate words when expressing emotions and never use words that would threaten others with violence or harm.
Everyday, all of us at Geer Park work to maintain a safe school environment for all students. By always working together, and communicating, our school will continue to be a great school and a safe place for your child.
I appreciate your trust and confidence as we work in partnership to support our students.
Geer Park Families,
Please let us know if you are interested in being a paid interventionist, working with 4th and 5th grade. Requirements are: availability 4-5 days a week, fluent in English, and at least 60 college credits. Contact Ms. Charara via email at email@example.com.
Please note: 20 degrees (temp and wind chill combined) is the cutoff for outdoor recess and morning indoor line -up. This means that 20 degrees and lower, students remain indoors (25 degree temp and “feels like” 20 to include wind chill- students stay inside).
Please remember to have your child dress for the weather.
Due to weather and road conditions all Dearborn Public Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
سيتم إغلاق جميع مدارس ديربورن العامة اليوم ، الثلاثاء 12 نوفمبر ، 2019 نظرًا لظروف الطقس والطرق.
Students go outside for recess if the windchill is above 20 degrees. They should wear warm coats, gloves or mittens, and hats. It’s also helpful if they wear boots, scarves, and even snow pants. Students should also wear a sweater of light jacket for inside the classroom.

Due to current weather conditions ALL after school activities will be canceled for Monday, November 11, 2019.
Tuesday November 5th is Election Day and all Dearborn Public School students will not have school on that day.
All students will not attend school on Tuesday, November 5th.
We encourage all registered voters to make it to the polls and vote on November 5th.
